Easily identified but rarely found.

Health Concerns

This mold tends to grow well on cellulose surfaces.  The growth of spores may be less rapid compared to other types of mold. It has 15+ species and can be found everywhere.

The term black mold (also “toxic black mold”) is not scientific but is widely used by the media to usually reference Stachybotrys molds.
